About Me
I’m a 20-year-old student who is currently enrolled at the Pennsylvania State University where I double major in Public Relations and African-American Studies with a minor in Digital Media Trends and Analytics and a certificate in sports journalism.
Upon graduation, I hope to work in digital media realm, either curating or branding content for a news outlet or a sports organizaiton.
I’m the co-founder and first editor-in-chief of The Underground, a website devoted to telling the untold stories within the multi-cultural community at Penn State. In addition to overseeing all editorial and marketing creation including our RISE magazine, I mange our main Twitter account, our magazine account, our politics account, and built both our main site and magazine site through a WordPress framework.
I also do a little bit of design and photography.
As far as writing I’ve done sports writing for Women United FC, Lion’s Pride Blog, as well as contributed for Major League Soccer.
Giving back is important to me, and I currently serve as the public relations chair for FastStart, a first-year mentoring program for diverse students ran out of Penn State’s Alumni Association. I handle all of the social media, photography, and website curation for the organization. I’ve also mastered the skill of walking backwards through S.M.A.R.T where I give admissions tours for prospective students.
